I have been wanting to get the HD Flat Screen TV for a looooong time right now, and have just been expecting the prices to drop to your range I could pay for. When I saw this particular TCL 40-Inch, I knew in which my time had appear at last.
It is a wonderful first-time TV. I push the button within minutes right out from the box. Very easy, simply no muss, no fuss. I did have to buy a separate High-definition multimedia cable in order to use it to my Dvd and blu-ray player, but which was also cheap and simple. Plug and Play.
The image looks great. It is such a vast improvement over my personal analog TV who’s was like seeing new movies. I can’t have a Blu Ray gamer, but my Dvd movie player has an upscaling feature that lets me use the full 1080p ability of L32HDF11TA the screen. One problem I have had with the image is the Backlight Sensor, which in turn senses the light inside the room and adjusts the picture accordingly. I found this particular always left the picture too dark, so I transformed it off and does the manual environment.
Aside from the Backlight Sensor, it doesn’t have a lot of features. This is a bare-bones machine. In fact, my old analogue TV could accomplish more interesting items (like picture-in-picture), but to tell the truth I barely used those. There are a couple of different monitor configurations, and you can zoom images if you want, but again, apart from playing with that feature regarding awhile I in no way touched it once again.
I am not sure if it is the television or my Digital video disc player, but several of my old pre-widescreen Dvd disks, specifically my elderly Disney and Popeye shows, get automatically “widescreened” to suit the screen. This is a bummer because it is essentially pan-and-scan that means I lose some of the image. I have examined, but haven’t observed anyway to set the aspect ratio therefore it gives me a rectangular picture.
Overall, I will be thrilled with the TCL 40-Inch. I had some worries with regards to not getting a acknowledged brand name, but I also have this TV for a number of months with no difficulties at all. I would happily buy a TCL TV once more.
